Interested in Sandblast, but don't have a team? Looking for event management experience? Got some free time this summer? Do you enjoy watching high quality ultimate and athletic co-ed's at the beach?
Springtime is supposed to be here which means that Sandblast is around the corner. As part of an increased relationship, an Ultimate Chicago Sandblast committee has now been formed and is looking for leaders and volunteers to be part of the following groups:
*Sponsorship - Chipotle, Accelerated and more will be supporting us again this year. Learn about the sales and execution efforts before, during and after the event.
*Beach Operations - There is much to do at the beach for setup of fields, tents and drink/food displays, lunch pickups and, of course, beach cleanup.
*Player packs - Identification and request for player pack contributions as well as the planning/involvement in the Player Pack Party itself, another highlight of the event.
*Promotions - Working on and utilizing partnerships with radio stations, publications and local venues to spread the news about our great event.
*Event party - Acting quickly, there is an opportunity to contribute to the venue bid process. Once selected, there is plenty to do in coordinating donations, themes, attendance and other promotions of the party.
*DVD project - External partners will be contracted to do the filming, editing and post-production. This will be an opportunity to support requirements, coordination, and contribute to the production of the event DVD.
*Merchandise - VC Ultimate will again return to Sandblast with opportunities to work on designs, templates, planning and sales generation.
*Ultimate education - A big part of Ultimate Chicago's participation is to drive the ultimate community in Chicago. There is a great opportunity for ultimate demos and instruction to the beach spectators and friends as well as promote the UC organization.
These roles provide an opportunity to get involved in Sandblast, gain event experience and be compensated with over $100 in food, drinks and merchandise. In terms of time commitments, our first meeting will be on Sunday, May 4th, so look forward to hearing from and having you join our team. We have a second team meeting the first Sunday of June and another in July leading up to the event weekend of Friday, July 18th to Sunday, July 20th.
